Abstract

G.-VALDECASAS CAMPELO, José  and  VISPE ASTOLA, Amaia. Quo vadis, psychiatry?. Rev. Asoc. Esp. Neuropsiq. [online]. 2017, vol.37, n.132, pp.499-507. ISSN 2340-2733.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/s0211-57352017000200010.

In this article we provide a brief introduction to the question of what has been called “postpsychiatry” From the foundational article by Patrick Bracken and Philip Thomas in 2001 to the present and with the perspective of the more than 15 years elapsed, we try to analyze some aspects of this plural movement, as well as the reactions that have occurred against it, exposing our personal position in the debate about what kind of psychiatry we want to have and how can we contribute towards that goal.

Keywords : postpsychiatry; psychiatry; antipsychiatry; critical psychiatry.
