Abstract

CASARIEGO, Z.J.. Lost of immune tolerance in recurrent aphthous ulcers (RAU) of oral mucous membrane: break of Immune Tolerance could cause persistent injury in oral mucosa, provoking recurrent afthae´s ulcers (part 1). Av Odontoestomatol [online]. 2016, vol.32, n.2, pp.71-82. ISSN 2340-3152.

Oral mucous membrane have developed a unique and distinct Immune System from the very steps of extrauterine life, deep immersed in a new and changing environment. At that moment deletion of auto reactive T cells clones was performed, in Thymus and new cells, named tolerogenic cells were created in order to avoid autoimmunity and chronic inflammations. Co-stimulating molecules, interleukins, transforming factors and dendritic cells are collaborating markers to analyze. Actually, the oral cavity is recognized as an immune tolerance region. There are many definitions of "Lost of Immune Tolerance" which are consulted in this presentation. There were selected the most relevant points of view, in order to associate and to explain the three crucial problems of this serious pathologic process, "recurrent aphthous ulcers". There are: pain, vulnerability and recurrence.

Keywords : Immune tolerance; environment; lost of immune tolerance; vulnerability; recurrence.
