Abstract

GOMEZ-CARRILLO, Víctor et al. Surgical technique for intraoral approach to a large cervical dermoid cyst: case report. Rev Esp Cirug Oral y Maxilofac [online]. 2011, vol.33, n.3, pp.124-128. ISSN 2173-9161.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S1130-05582011000300006.

Submilohyoid benign lesions can be approached intraorally, thus avoiding skin scars and ensuring the preservation of facial nerve branches. The floor of the mouth is opened and better exposure of the surgical field is achieved by removing the sublingual gland. The submandibular duct is identified and probed to prevent damage. The lesion is totally dissected and its contents removed so it could fit through the incision made.

Keywords : Dermoid cyst; Mouth floor; Congenital lesions; Head and neck neoplasms; Dysontogenic cyst.
