Abstract

BARAJAS BLANCO, María; DEL CASTILLO PARDO DE LA VERA, José Luis  and  CEBRIAN CARRETERO, José Luis. Tumefactive fibroinflammatory lesion. A case report. Rev Esp Cirug Oral y Maxilofac [online]. 2021, vol.43, n.3, pp.122-124.  Epub Oct 25, 2021. ISSN 2173-9161.  https://dx.doi.org/10.20986/recom.2021.1282/2021.

Tumefactive fibroinflammatory lesions are rare idiopathic benign fibrosclerosant lesions that clinically and radiologically simulate malignancy. These lesions have a high recurrence rate, so patients should be monitored for the long term. We present a case of a 87 years old patient who came to the emergency room with a 1-month history of an expansive maxilary lesion. A biopsy was performed with result of tumefactive fibroinflammatory lesion.

Keywords : Head and neck tumors; tumefactive fibroinflammatory lesions.
