Abstract
ESPINA CASTILLA, A.; FORCADA GISBERT, J. and JOANIQUET SUILS, X.. Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyderosis, a case report . Medifam [online]. 2001, vol.11, n.8, pp.79-91. ISSN 1131-5768.
Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis is an old people pathology which is distinguished by a clear tendence to tendon, ligament, periosteum and articular capsule ossification, either spinal or extraspinal. Its diagnostic and therapeutic management must be carried out by a family phisician. The radiological manifestations are its visiting card, though we cannont forget its clinical spinal or extraspinal manifestations. We will refer the patient to a higuer assitance level whenever we are in a diagnostic doubt, or when we suspect compressive pathology (either at medullar or esophageal level). We believe the clinical case we are showing you to be worth considering due to its radiological and clinical manifestations.
