Many changes have occurred about AIDS in the last years. The high incidence in patients in fertile ages and the improvement in life expectancy and quality of life in patients using HAART becomes many couples, in whom only one partner is HIV-positive, (serodiscordant couples) wish to conceive a children. This article reviews the different reproductive options for this couples to minimize transmission of HIV, including assisted reproduction techniques and "sperm-wash" analyzing the safety, efficacy and most frequent problems of the different techniques.
