Objectives: To review and analyze critically all primary articles which study Nursing Practice Models and results in terms of the external and internal client, and the institution. Methods: Design: Critical review of research articles of NPM. Databases: Cinahl, Embase, Healthstar and Medline. Results: 16 articles found. None of them complete the criteria established for the methodological validity of the studies by the checklist used. Only one research used a strong design. 14 articles study results in terms of internal client. Most positive results are found for external client satisfaction and quality of care for the external client. Contradictory results found for internal client satisfaction Conclusion: There is a poor methodological quality of the articles found which attempts against the internal and external validity of their results.
