Abstract
URIBE-TOHA, María Ángela; LEON-PINO, José Manuel and GRUPO PARA EL ESTUDIO DE AUTOCUIDADO. Self-care agency level of Chilean nurses during the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Index Enferm [online]. 2022, vol.31, n.3, pp.161-165. Epub Feb 06, 2023. ISSN 1699-5988.
Objective:
To determine the level of self-care agency of nurses during the Covid-19 pandemic in Chile and its association with sociodemographic, occupational variables and health habits.
Methodology:
A quantitative, associative, cross-sectional study was conducted in a sample of 343 nurses. For data collection, a survey of sociodemographic and occupational background, health habits and the Self-Care Agency Rating Scale was used, applied by means of a Google Forms form.
Results:
46.9% of the participants presented a low capacity for self-care agency, obtaining a statistically significant association between physical activity and hours of sleep with the level of self-care agency of the nurses.
Conclusion:
It is concluded that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the highest percentage of clinical nurses presented a low level of self-care agency associated with low physical activity and reduced sleep hours.
