Abstract

The fibromyalgia is a chronic rheumatologic pathology, whose principal symptom is chronic pain. There are other secondary symptoms like anxiety, depression, fatigue, insomnia, etc. Fibromyalgia is more frequently in females between 40-55 years old; the etiology is unknown, although there are some theories to explain it. It has recently accepted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and classified like Weird Disease of the Spanish National Health System. It is a complex pathology because it doesn't present a specific diagnosis and treatment. The most important nursing diagnosis is chronic pain, which produce others as they are activity intolerance and hopelessness. It is necessary an interdisciplinary and integral raised of the patient, taking into account all physical and psychological aspects. There are many therapies, both pharmacological and not pharmacological, that associated improve symptoms, leading to a better quality of life for patients. Qigong is presented as a possible therapy in reducing the sensation of pain and stress in fibromyalgia patients.
