The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of mood and the factors that can affect older people. Cross-sectional epidemiological study including people aged >ó= 65 years of institutions with different levels of care located in the city of Lleida. The variables included, in addition to depressed mood characterized by loneliness and sadness, the sociodemographic characteristics and various health parameters. Depression is a pathological alteration of mood. It is important to detect because it can predict the severity of depression in elderly. The nursing staff is in a prime location for its proximity to patients.
