Abstract

DOMINGUEZ-CARDOSO, Pablo; JIMENEZ-CASTELLANOS BALLESTEROS, Emilio; VENTURA DE LA TORRE, Javier  and  CANADAS-RODRIGUEZ, Diego. Transference in true hinge axis or arbitrary axis: influence on the working and non working excursive movements. RCOE [online]. 2004, vol.9, n.6, pp.633-639. ISSN 1138-123X.

Introduction: The relationship between condylar dynamic and occlusal morphology is clear. The aim of this study was to analyse the working and non working excursive movements after using two different techniques of transference to a semiadjustable articulator. Material and method: The upper model was mounted on a Dentatus ARL articulator using both the true hinge axis and an arbitrary axis. The working and non working excursions were traced on the first maxillary molar. Results: No statistically significant difference was observed in the angles and distances studied. Conclusions: No statistically significant difference for the analysed parameters was observed in the use of both techniques.

Keywords : Hinge Axis; Arbitrary axis; Working excursive movements; Non working excursive movements; Face bow.
