Abstract

SAEZ MORENO, Miguel Ángel; CASTANO DIAZ, Marta; TORRES ANTON, Luis  and  LOPEZ-TORRES HIDALGO, Jesús. Plantar fascitis diagnosed with ultrasound. Rev Clin Med Fam [online]. 2021, vol.14, n.1, pp.34-36.  Epub Mar 22, 2021. ISSN 2386-8201.

Plantar fascitis is a common cause of pain in the sole of the foot; it occurs because of excess load at the insertion of the fascia into the calcaneus. The patient typically reports pain at the start of the day upon gait and this increases on palpation. Ultrasound complements and even confirms the diagnosis and also serves as a guide for certain treatments when conservative measures have not proved to be effective.

Keywords : Calcaneus; Fasciitis; Ultrasonography.
