Healthcare workers are considered at high risk for the spread of diseases such as tuberculosis (TB) from infected patients who have contact because of their occupation. This study characterizes healthcare workers with tuberculosis in Bogotá in the period between 2009 and 2011. Is a quantitative, descriptive, cross sectional and retrospective study. The data of this study are drawn from the database of "Sistema de Vigilancia en Salud Pública" (SIVIGILA), provided by the District Department of Health over a period from 2009 to 2011. The results showing more cases in extrapulmonary TB (53.7%). The diagnosis was mainly by laboratory. The age group with the highest incidence was 25-29 years. We conclude that the study population, health workers, are at risk of contracting an infectious disease such as TB (59.3%).
