Introduction.

The service and learning (S&L) methodology allows students to put learned knowledge into practice in the service of concrete requirements of a community and at the same time, they are formed in values, such as solidarity. It encourages integration and reflection to lead students to achieve the expected learning outcomes.

Objective.

To identify the degree of satisfaction of UCSC Nursing students with the remote implementation of the learning and service methodology for the strengthening of professional competencies.

Subjects and methods.

Quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive study. Intentional non-probabilistic sample, made up of 75 students, 12% male and 88% female, with a mean age of 19.5 years (SD = 0.58). The students participated in the remote implementation of an S&L experience for the child population of the Elige Vida Sana programme of a health centre with the aim of providing information and reinforcing healthy habits and behaviours. Student satisfaction with the remote implementation of the S&L methodology was measured by means of a self-survey with a Likert-type scale.

Results.

Students perceived the remote implementation of the S&L methodology favourably in all the dimensions considered, with the greatest satisfaction (94.1%) in the dimension of learning developed by students in the procedural area.

Conclusion.

The remote implementation of the S&L methodology was perceived positively by the students and allowed for active and meaningful learning together with the strengthening of professional competences.
