RIESCO, M. et al. Desoxipiridinolina en orina como marcador de resorción ósea. Rev Diagn Biol [online]. 2001, vol.50, n.2, pp.70-73. ISSN 0034-7973.
The biological variability of deoxypyridinoline/creatinine ratio (DPD) in urine and its repercussion in the interpretation of results was evaluated.Three samples,of second miccion in the morning, from 16 women on different days collected were analized by chemiluminescence. The intra-individual biological variability (20.51%) was smaller than the inter-individual (24.78%); the index of individuality was 0.83; the index of heterogeneneity 0.33 and de critical difference 14.91%. Conclusions: The population reference values of DPD are aceptables but they have limited utility for diagnostic purposes; the DPD in urine coul be useful tools for antiresortive therapies control and every laboratory must obtain their own critical difference for a correct interpretation of results.
