Objectives: To determine the evidence of cost-effectiveness of WHP programs and to find out if there is scientific evidence in the literature of the benefits of the workers´ health indicators. Methodology: Bibliographic research of the scientific literature published in Medline, SCOPUS and Cochrane from 2006 to 2013 has been carried out. A total of 13 original studies and 4 systematic revisions performed on Health Promotion Programs applied in workplace environments have been studied. Results: Statistically significant results improvements were observed in health indicators (n=5); Positive ROI (Return on investment) (n=2); Work performance (n=1); Health expenses (n=1); Work productivity (n=1) Decrease in the number of indemnities due to disease (n=1). In the majority of articles there were observed positive results regarding cost effectiveness after the implementation of PST programs, without reaching statistical significance. Conclusion: There is evidence of improvement in health indicators after the implementation of PST programs and it can be inferred that there can be optimism regarding the financial impact of such programs, although future studies of better scientific quality are needed.
