Anomalous enlargement of the transverse process (Bertolotti's Syndrome) and sacral fusion defect as identification signs in forensic anthropology. Cuad. med. forense [online]. 2013, vol.19, n.1-2, pp.39-41. ISSN 1988-611X. https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S1135-76062013000100007.
When skeletalized remains are discovered the forensic anthropologist needs to establish first if the bones are human. If so, the sex, race, age, stature, and any pathology must be established in order to make an identification of the remains, determine manner and cause of death. We are presenting a case with interesting bone variations: anomalous enlargement of the transverse process (Bertolotti's syndrome) and partial sacral fusion defect.
