Abstract

MIR MARESMA, C. et al. Benigne retroperitoneal schwannoma, laparoscopic ressection. Actas Urol Esp [online]. 2008, vol.32, n.4, pp.455-457. ISSN 0210-4806.

Schwannomas are tumors rarely localized in the retroperitoneum, generally appear in craneal as well as periferic nerves. Seldom cases the diagnosis is preoperatively made just because imaging is very poor in this field. MRI is proven to be the diagnostic method. Radical surgical ressection is standarized treatment. We document a case of a benign retroperitoneal schwannoma where we explain the laparoscopic resection of this kind of tumors for first time.

Keywords : Retroperitoneal schwannoma; Retroperitoneal tumors; Laparoscopics.
