Abstract

It is evaluated the efficiency of a psychological intervention directed to reduce the psychological discomfort and the drugs consumption of a group of dependent patients to drugs. It was accomplished a six month follow-up, in those which were evaluated anxiety measures, depression, distress, quality of life and abstinence to drugs. It was found that after of the treatment the patients reduced their initial levels of psychophatology and, reduced your drugs consumption. It is concluded that a psychological intervention model with brief therapy format, of direction cognitive behavioral, it can be useful in many patient, presents some costs less than other type of interventions and, has a contrasted scientific evidence that locate to as the first intervention election in patient with diagnostic of dependency to drugs.
