GOMEZ ESTEBAN, Rosa. Professional stress in doctors: Burnout and teamwork. Rev. Asoc. Esp. Neuropsiq. [online]. 2004, n.90, pp.41-56. ISSN 2340-2733.

It has been noticed that the variable of anxiety has a relevant impact on the work of the physicians, showing the seventy percent a medium level of anxiety, and the eighteen percent a high level of anxiety. In the same way we detect an important depression in a 5%. The lack of satisfaction in the relationship and the state of suffering of the patient are the variables that create the most anxiety. In terms of the medical organization, the lack of public support, education and time are the most stressing aspects. In terms of dealing with illness, the physician"s fears are giving a wrong diagnosis and treatment. The work satisfaction is directly related to the medical organization they belong to, and of how this institution functions, as weil as the relationship they has with their boss and peers when doing team work. Team work can make physicians keep their anxiety internally.
