GARCIA PUMARINO SANTOFIMIA, R.  y  SANCHEZ OLASO, A.. Laser, IPL (Intense Pulsed light), radiofrequency and other energy sources: Occasional complement for Plastic Surgery?. Cir. plást. iberolatinoam. [online]. 2008, vol.34, n.1, pp.61-70. ISSN 0376-7892.

Plastic Surgery offices are currently full of patients who have growing expectations about the outcome of the treatments made with different energy sources. The aim is to get a high cosmetic benefit index with the lowest number of sessions and recovery time. The three elements we can work with are tone, texture and pigmentary skin disorders. The light and radiofrequency systems allow the combination of different treatment levels, such as deep dermis, papillary dermis and epidermis. These systems represent a complement for the surgical procedures, providing a "biological" concept as they stimulate the tissue regeneration and the neocollagenosis. In this article we describe the fundamentals of these complementary treatments for plastic surgeons.

Palabras clave : Non-ablative rejuvenation; Laser; IPL (Intense Pulsed Light); Radiofrequency; Multilevel treatment.
