Abstract
SANCHEZ JIMENEZ, J.; GOMEZ ANGEL, D. and GALERA RUIZ, H.. Valor pronóstico del parámetro inmunohistoquímico p53 en los estadios I y II del carcinoma epidermoide de lengua móvil. Rev Esp Cirug Oral y Maxilofac [online]. 2003, vol.25, n.5, pp.280-287. ISSN 2173-9161.
Objetive: The purpose of this study was evaluating immunohistochemical marker p53 as a prognosis (diagnosis) factor in patients which presented mobile tongue epidermoid carcinoma in stages I and II. Material and method: A retrospective study was carried out to 36 patients (homogeneous group) corresponding to a study period of 10 years from 1985 to 1995. Samples came from surgical pieces included in paraffin blocks. Immunohistochemical studies were made by using immunoperoxidase technique method ABC (streptavidin-biotin- peroxidase complex). Results and conclusion: In the homogeneous sample case studied it a direct significant relation between positive immunotinción for p53 and the probability of reccurrence and/or death because of disease, as well as inverse relation between positive immunotinción for p53 and survival average time in patients which presented mobile tongue epidermoid carcinoma was observed.
