ARRESE, I. et al. Acute subdural and intratemporal hematoma as a complication of percutaneous compression of the gasserian ganglion for trigeminal neuralgia. Neurocirugía [online]. 2005, vol.16, n.2, pp.177-182. ISSN 1130-1473.

The case of a 68 year-old man who developed a fatal intracranial hemorrhagic complication following percutaneous compression of the gasserian ganglion for trigeminal neuralgia is reported. The anatomical structures at risk of damage by misplaced needle or catheter and some relevant thecnical details aimed to prevent extratrigeminal complications related with this and other percutaneous trigeminal lesioning procedures are analyzed.
