Abstract

More of 50% cancer patients will need radiation therapy, either tumor control or palliative. However, the radiotherapy and his side effects are quite unknonw for Primary Health Care professionals. The side effects may be acute or late and they are in relation with dose and fractionation, tumor size and extent, normal tissue irradiated, concomitant chemotherapy and individual patient variables. The purpose of this article is to inform about the most important side effects and their management.
