In this review is presented the main features of orthostatic hypotension that occurred in the elderly patients. It is really an ill-studied disease and scarcely detected in Primary Health Care. This review highlights the elevated prevalence of this disease, the need of a systematic detection, the difficulty in its diagnose, its importance as a vascular risk in patients aged 65 or elder and gives clues for management and treatment in the practices of Primary Health Care.
