Abstract

Atopic dermatitis (eczema) is a chronic skin disorder. It is of inflammatory nature and causes excessive itchness. It shows morfhological changes according to the age and time of evolution with an important family history component.  Its diagnosis is fundamentally clinical and pharmacological and non pharmacological methods are used in its treatment.  In relation to this, the family physicians must know the different topical treatments necessary to maintain and adecuate skin hidratation for breaking the cycle of itching and scratching of this illness.
