Abstract

PONCE GONZALEZ, José Mª. Diabetes: lights and shades in the way. Index Enferm [online]. 2006, vol.15, n.52-53, pp.59-63. ISSN 1699-5988.

People with diabetes need professionals who besides offering knowledge to them, value the answers that they and their families develop to the disease, their capacities to confront the situation and what the adaptation to the illness is. Including/understanding the situations  the undergoes diabetic and mainly the image that nurses provoke in diabetics with respect to the diabetologic education, has taken to me to hold an in depth interview with the protagonist of this story. When the subjective experiences of the patients, are looked into reflection on them is needed to understand the needs of these and the learning that nurses can and  must  gain from the patients"wisdom", a result of their experience.
