Abstract

PEREA-BAENA, J.M.  and  SANCHEZ-GIL, L.M.. Coping strategies and job satisfaction in mental health nurse. Index Enferm [online]. 2008, vol.17, n.3, pp.164-168. ISSN 1699-5988.

The present work has two main aims: knowing the nurses’ uses about coping strategies and testing if there is any relationship between coping strategies and job satisfaction. It were applied several questionnaires to a sample of 44 nurses which were working en three services of mental health in the Virgen de la Victoria Hospital of Málaga. The results showed that the mental health nurses did not uses adaptive coping strategies. However there is a positive relationship between adaptive coping strategies and job satisfaction. These results suggest that the mental heath nurses need training about adaptive coping strategies.
