The training of nurses is characterized by a complex and multifunctional practice linked to health and social context in which it develops. Given the complexity of this process, practicing nurses must take a leading role in the training of students and it is essential to provide them with a voice in the process. The aim of this work focuses on clarifying the etymology used to refer to practicing nurses responsible for training process and define the functions that must be performed during the process graders practice nursing. The nomenclature used for most tasks the students support and advice are: mentoring, counseling, coaching and tutor latter being the most used in our environment. The main function of the coach focuses on the need to enhance the student's critical thinking and reflection development to a phenomenon of health and disease.
