Abstract
SILVA, Darine Marie Rodrigues da et al. Factors associated with drugs consumption in life by school adolescents. Index Enferm [online]. 2021, vol.30, n.1-2, pp.24-28. Epub Apr 25, 2022. ISSN 1699-5988.
Objective:
to analyze the association among socio-demographic profile, family system variables, and consumption of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs in life among school adolescents.
Methods:
Cross-sectional study performed with 364 students of aged 14 to 19 years. Three instruments were used: ASSIST, a short version of DUSI, and the participants´ socio-demographic profile.
Results:
An association of school retainment, place of residence, and religion with alcoholic beverage consumption was evidenced. For each point in the DUSI score, the chances of alcoholic beverage consumption increased by 3%, residing in the urban area increased 3 times the chance for consuming those substances, and being a member of evangelical religion appeared as a protection factor.
Conclusions:
this study confirmed high rates of drug use by adolescents and that the quality of family relations influence the consumption pattern.
