Abstract

VAZQUEZ PINEIRO, Mª Teresa; GONZALEZ BEREIJO, Juan Manuel  and  NIEMBRO DE RASCHE, Enrique. The peripheral giant cell granuloma: clinical case and review of literature review. RCOE [online]. 2002, vol.7, n.2, pp.201-206. ISSN 1138-123X.

Peripheral giant cell granuloma is an exophytic lesion which is located in the gingival area and in the alveolar bone, of benign nature, and with not clearly defined aetiology. It represents 7% of the benign jaw tumours. The aim of this article is to describe one case which appeared in a 13-year old woman. The lesion was a fast-growing tumour, located in the maxilla. We also carried out a literature review in order to study the epidemiologic, clinical and pathological aspects as well as the possible treatment options for this process.

Keywords : Giant cell granuloma; Giant cell epulis.
