Abstract
SANTIAGO LOPEZ-LOPEZ, Ismael; JAENES-SANCHEZ, José C. and CARDENAS-VELEZ, David. Adaptation for footballer (CPRD-F) of "psychological characteristics related to the sport performance" questionnaire (CPRD). CPD [online]. 2013, vol.13, n.2, pp.21-30. ISSN 1989-5879.
The aim of this study is to validate and adapt to soccer population the Psychological Characteristics related to the Sport Performance (CPRD) questionnaire, widely used in numerous previous works. In order to get a construct validation, a Principal Component Analysis (Varimax rotation) with a .30 as minimum value of saturation index, was made. The sample estimation was calculated by means of the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin index (KMO= .951) and the Barlet´s statistic significance test. To measure the internal consistency or reliability, Cronbach´s alpha coefficient was used. The result is CPRD-f, an instrument that reduce to 40 the original 55 item questionnaire, which conserves 5 subscales, although changing the names, hiding some of them and appearing other news. The results show a high reliability of the whole questionnaire (.85).
