TENREIRO GAVELA, F.; MONTERO SEONE, A. e SAAVEDRA GARCIA, M.. Perceived exertion and perceived recovery in professional spanish refereeing: a case study. CPD [online]. 2016, vol.16, n.3, pp.137-144. ISSN 1989-5879.
The purpose of this study is to know the perceived exertion and the perceived recovery of a professional first division Spanish soccer referee, during official matches. Furthermore, we intend to check the influence of the difficulty of the matches over these parameters, which have been categorized according to the previous classification of each team. Seventeen official matches of the Spanish soccer first division (Liga BBVA) from the 2012-13 season have been analyzed, in which the referee was designated as main referee. For the perceived exertion analysis, the RPE scale (Rating Perceived Exertion) and the modified CR10 scale (Category scales with Ratio properties) have been used, while for recovery perception, the TQR scale (Total Quality Recovery) was used. The mean values obtained show that perceived exertion during refereeing regardless of the scale used and the difficulty of the matches is "hard" (CR10, 5,8 ± 1,3; RPE, 14,6 ± 0,9). The recovery perception 24 hours after the match is perceived as "reasonable" (13,7 ± 0,8).
