This study analyzes the psycometric properties proposed by Solano- Pinto y Cano- Vindel (2010) of the IMAGEN questionnaire. The total simple has been composed by 533 participant, 257 Mexican and 276 Spanish mean age 13,5 years (SD= 1,10). The factor structure of questionnaire has been analized through the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. This analysis shows that a five factor structure is good. A penta- factor structure (perceptive, emotional distress, behavioral, approach to change and fear to gain weight) have been show an aceptable model fit of reliability and validity. Although the proposed model doesn´t completely match with the authors´ model of the questionnaire, the model continues to endorse the multifactorial components of the body disatisfaction, On the other hand, the factor structure, factor loading and intercepts coud be considered invariant across groups (Mexican and Spanish); however, there are differences among Mexican and Spanish adolescents in the perceptive, emotional distress, approach to change and fear to gain weight factors.
