Abstract

LUCAS PEREZ-ROMERO, Javier; SALAZAR GARCIA, Pilar; LUCAS PEREZ-ROMERO, Marta  and  BELMONTE, María Ángeles. Psoas Abscess. Rev Clin Med Fam [online]. 2011, vol.4, n.1, pp.76-78. ISSN 2386-8201.

Psoas abscess is a rare clinical entity often associated with gastrointestinal disease. Clinical manifestations are usually non-specific and therefore diagnosis is delayed leading to poor prognosis. It is important to emphasis that when a patient presents with an abscess or cutaneous emphysema in the muscle the possibility of abdominal origin should always be considered, because immediate, aggressive surgical drainage is the only effective treatment.

Keywords : Abscess; Psoas Abscess.
