ORGAZ GALLEGO, María Pilar; CURBELO DEL BOSCO, Juan María; TRICIO ARMERO, Miguel Ángel  and  PEREZ SANCHEZ, Soledad. Ramsay Hunt syndrome: a case report. Rev Clin Med Fam [online]. 2016, vol.9, n.2, pp.119-122. ISSN 2386-8201.

We present the case of a female patient with peripheral facial paralysis coinciding with vesicular herpetic otic lesions. Ramsay Hunt syndrome is the second most common cause of atraumatic peripheral facial paralysis, with a very varied clinical presentation. The facial paralysis in this syndrome occurs in 60-90 % of cases, is peripherical and can precede or follow the cutaneous lesions with a worse prognosis than idiopathic Bell paralysis.

Keywords : Ramsay Hunt Syndrome; Herpes zoster; Facial paralysis; Ear diseases.
