Abstract

CASADO, María. Against the “Gallardón Proposal” to change the abortion regulation in Spain. Rev. Bioética y Derecho [online]. 2014, n.32, pp.4-19. ISSN 1886-5887.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S1886-58872014000300002.

This article analyse the underlying arguments in the debate of abortion and its regulation, focusing on the known as “Gallardón Proposal” for modification of the current law in Spain. From the perspective of respect for women's autonomy and their recognized rights, I argue against the different items of the reform bill, concerning the doctrine of the Spanish Constitutional Court, as well as various reports published in the field.

Keywords : abortion; term and indications; sexual and reproductive rights; public policy; sexual education and contraception; voluntary interruption of pregnancy.
