FUENTES MORA, Carlos. Tolerancia y reacciones adversas en la quimioprofilaxis antipalúdica de larga duración: una revisión bibliográfica. Ene. [online]. 2015, vol.9, n.3. ISSN 1988-348X.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S1988-348X2015000300007.

Spanish Armed Forces are deployed in different areas where malaria transmission occurs. Troops rotations are in periods between 4 and 6 months, during which an effective malaria prophylaxis must be kept. There are not enough studies of preventive chemoprophylaxis in long-term travelers; this is the aim of the present review. The conclusion is the best strategies for malaria prevention are vector control and atovacuona-proguanil chemoprophylaxis. Different nurse diagnostics will be listed according to NANDA taxonomy after identifying related factors that may cause health care problems.

Keywords : Chemoprophylaxis; malaria; Plasmodium; tolerance; adverse events; long-term.
