Objective: To assess user perceptions on nurse´s role in primary health care. Method: observational, descriptive, cross-sectional and analytical study. We constructed a patient self-administered survey. For descriptionbt we used relative frequencies of categories, mean-standard deviation, median-percentile (P5-P95). For bivariate analysis, one-way ANOVA, Student's t curve and Chi-square. All bilateral tests were done using SPSS v.21.0, Significance level 0.05%. Results: We have obtained favorable responses for: knowledge about the role, professional judgment, autonomy in decision-making, university degree, problem solving skills, importance for team operation. Conclusions: Patients perceive that nurses offer a service that improves their health and that they are available for them.
