ANDREU SANCHEZ, Paula; MEDINA RUFINO, Rebeca Inés  y  BONILLA GARCIA, Juan Manuel. Nivel de ansiedad del paciente de enfermedad inflamatoria crónica intestinal en tratamiento con granulocitoaféresis. Ene. [online]. 2016, vol.10, n.1. ISSN 1988-348X.

The anxiety developed in people who face treatments in hospitals produces a negative effect may impair the proper development of therapy. This article is based on the evaluation of the patient anxiety level (NANDA CODE:000146) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease sufferers undergoing treatment with Granulocytoapheresis with Adacolumn®, as last treatment before surgery, according to sessions given to them in the donor's room at the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (CHUC) on an outpatient basis and in a new reserved space for such therapy. In 2012, a room space of blood donors was conditioned and the group of nurses were trained in performing this treatment. This research was made by retrospective, descriptive, observational study. The sample was taken from all patients who have been subjected to this treatment in our service by telephone interviews conducted by nursing service. It follows that environmental conditions of the room influence to reduce anxiety levels in patients, promoting quality care, while there is no relationship between the number of treatment sessions and anxiety level expressed. Venipuncture and hospital admission are defined as parameters that produce more anxiety. Future improvements should be explored to further increase the quality of care of these patients, decreasing anxiety produced in themselves in relation to their perception of danger in therapy and promoting a greater positive response to treatment.
