Abstract
MARRERO GONZALEZ, Cristo Manuel and GARCIA HERNANDEZ, Alfonso Miguel. Expriences of Nurses facing Death. Ene. [online]. 2019, vol.13, n.2, 1321. Epub Oct 21, 2019. ISSN 1988-348X.
In this document the main objective was to show what experiences or perceptions nurses have when caring for a person in final stages in life. The authors, relying on various publications, describe that for the nurse the death of a patient supposes a complex and drastic event in her life, presenting in the professional feelings of sadness, impotence or anger among others. The process of dying is not isolated from the sociocultural context of the patient or the professional. It requires improvements in the professional competence of nurses to face the final stage of life, as there is not enough preparation at emotional and care level because the death has not been sufficiently studied.
