Abstract

HERNANDEZ-RODRIGUEZ, José Enrique et al. Application of a training program in cardiopulmonary resuscitation for the educational community. PROFERCP. Preliminary results. Ene. [online]. 2022, vol.16, n.3, 1327.  Epub Mar 13, 2023. ISSN 1988-348X.

The incidence of cardiopulmonary arrest (CPA) in Spain is between 0.1 and 0.5 per 1,000 inhabitants / year. Teaching cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques as a school subject is considered paramount. An educational intervention with a pre and post longitudinal descriptive design was carried out in a compulsory secondary education center. The sample was 315 students.

Training in CPR strategies, in the school environment, is basic. But the level of retention of knowledge is not sustained and over time, they decline significantly. Among the results of the study carried out, it is observed that the fundamental aspects of CPR maneuvers are those that have obtained the best significant differences at 8 days after the intervention, especially in that which reflects practical skills in managing the situation of CPA, but after 30 days, they decline, although retaining some of the skills acquired with the development of the practical activities of the workshop

Therefore, it is necessary to include this training in the centre's curricular programming.
