^les^aA pesar de muchos años de investigaciones, todavía existen muchas cuestiones acerca del tratamiento adecuado de la sífilis en sus diferentes estadíos. Se siguen buscando alternativas a la penicilina para el tratamiento de la sífilis. En este trabajo hemos querido analizar los últimos estudios publicados con las posibilidades terapéuticas más prometedoras, así como las nuevas recomendaciones terapéuticas en todos los estadíos de esta enfermedad de transmisión sexual.^len^aDespite many years of study questions regarding the appropriate therapy for syphilis still remain. Alternatives to penicillin for the treatment of syphilis continue to be sought. This article examines the studies relating to syphilis treatment published during the last years and also the new treatment guidelines for every stage of this sexually transmitted disease.
