NAVARRO PENA, Y.    CASTRO SALAS, M.. Dorothea orem model applied to a community group through the nursing process. []. , 19. ISSN 1695-6141.

Nursing has a tradition in the development of models and theories that dates to the nineteenth century. Through the years, a number of experiences applying this history has also emerged. This helps to link theory and practice as well as to solidify the knowledge gained from research. Along with this, a growing body of research has set out to prove what has been posited by theory, as well as providing a profile of nursing as a science of discipline and profession. The aim of this article is to shed light on the experience of applying the Orem model in a community group of hypertensive patients, through the nursing process. For this, the three theories that make up the model have been used: "Self-care Theory" for assessment period, "Self-care Deficit Theory" for the diagnostic period, and finally "Systems Theory" for the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing intervention periods interventions. In this way, the theory provides theoretical guidance to nursing care delivery and the nursing process is the tool that allows them to deliver care through systematic and rational planning.
