We present three clinical cases corresponding to young women with kerion-type inflammatory tinea located in pubic area extending to vulvar region, a localization very seldom reported in the literature. Trichophyton mentagrophytes was isolated in the three cases. The three patients were admitted to Internal Medicine or Gynaecology Services due to the severe symptomatology, which included inflammation, suppuration and pain. Oral terbinafin_e cured two of the cases, and the third patient, pregnant, recovered with topical antifungal therapy and depilation of the area. As family doctors, we have to be aware of this uncommon and conspicuous clinical presentation of mycosis that simulates a severe pyodermitis or cellulitis.
