CAMACHO BARREIRO, Lidia; PESADO CARTELLE, José    RUMBO-PRIETO, José María. Opinion of nursing and correlation between the visual analog scale, verbal and numerical in the valuation of acute pain as the fifth vital parameter. []. , 10, 1. ISSN 1988-348X.

To know the opinion of nurses about the usefulness of recording and valuation of acute pain as 5th clinic constant; as well as determine the correlation of visual analogue scale (VAS) with the Verbal Rating Scale (VRS) and the Verbal Numerical Rating Scale (VNRS). Methodology: Observational study. Survey "ad hoc" and linear correlation between scales. Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis using the intraclass correlation coefficient and Bland-Altman method. Results: 102 professionals (58% female). 90.2% believe it is important that acute pain is measured; 65.7% see the impractical VAS; 80.4% do not know when to reassess the pain (p <0.05). The concordance between scales was low to moderate, with the VNRS the best alternative to VAS. Conclusions: The procedure for recognition and measurement of pain was highly valued by professionals, but its implementation showed low adherence. The agreement obtained was not significant guarantees to replace the VAS.
