Abstract

CERVINI, M.L.  and  DEMARCO, D.G.. Fertilization and forage availability in cebadilla criolla (Bromus catharticus). Arch. zootec. [online]. 2009, vol.58, n.222, pp.305-308. ISSN 1885-4494.

In this work was evaluated the disponibility of forrage and the number of cuts, under different levels of fertilization with nitrogen and phosphorous, in four varieties of Bromus catharticus: Martín Fierro, Tijereta, Bellegarde y Anabel. The treatments were: Control: 0 kg of nitrogen/ha, T1: 120 kg of nitrogen/ha (80 kg at sowing and 40 kg as refertilization), T2: 400 kg of phosphorous (triple superphosphate) and T3: 120 kg of nitrogen/ ha and 400 kg of phosphorous (triple superphosphate) with four replications for treatment. There were no significant differences neither for dry matter produced by variety or treatment (p>0.05) nor interactions between them. The number of cuts, showed significant differences, between trials (p<0.05). The biggest productions of biomass/ha were obtained by the conbination of both nutrients. The trials with the nitrogen and phosphorous combined, gave from 0.5 to 1.5 cuts more than the control.

Keywords : Natural pasture; Nitrogen; Phosphorus; Biomass; Number of cuts.
