Abstract
MELO, W.O. et al. Oestradiol and prostaglandin on conception rate of fixed-time inseminated Nellore cows. Arch. zootec. [online]. 2011, vol.60, n.230, pp.305-308. ISSN 1885-4494. https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S0004-05922011000200017.
The objective was to evaluate the pregnancy rate of Nellore cows submitted to estrous synchronization for fixed-time artificial insemination. The efficiency of the estradiol cypionate (CE) and benzoate (BE) to induce atresia and new follicular emergence wave in the beginning (day 0; D0) of progesterone device (CIDR®) treatment was tested. The administration of prostaglandin at CIDR device withdrawal (day 9; D9, three handlings protocol) or 48 h before it (day 7; D7, four handlings protocol) was also verified. A 2x2 factorial design was established (CE vs. EBE and PGFD7 vs. PGFD9). No differences were showed between treatments (p<0.05), being possible to employ the three handlings protocol.
