We describe the emergence of different functions as: subsistence means, source of rights, source of social hierarchies, source of personal meanings and scene of personal relationships. We discuss the role of productive activity in the meaning system that constitute individuals as member of a concrete society and, therefore, their mental health. On this basis, we discuss the role of the mental health care system in this field.
