Abstract

BALBUENA RIVERA, Francisco  and  SANCHEZ-BARRANCO RUIZ, Antonio. A short account of psychoanalysis in Russia. Rev. Asoc. Esp. Neuropsiq. [online]. 2004, n.90, pp.145-164. ISSN 2340-2733.

In this work we look at the origins and the development of psychoanalysis in Russia. Political events such as 1917 Revolution or Stalin’s dictatorship that left Russia in a social-institutional collapse played a crucial role. With the Perestroika uprising a new social order was created, allowing the practice of psychoanalysis and opening the door to other cultural and scientific Western influences.
